“The Neuroparent Alliance feels like a welcoming sanctuary and a space of genuine connection. Raising neurodiverse kids and teens can sometimes feel a little confusing, challenging and isolating. This group makes you realize you’re not alone and so many others are living, learning, and growing with their own circumstances.” - Sarah R.

What’s involved?

Join our personalized and welcoming virtual small group coaching workshops (10-12 people) filled with meaningful conversation, laughter, and community. And maybe a few swear words. Each hour-long session explores relevant topics and mindsets to bring more joy to daily life as a parent. Past discussions tailored to group interests have covered rethinking parenting success with neurodiverse kids, acknowledging and managing expectations, responding, not reacting, self-care when you need your A-game, different and capable, and raising adults. Sessions blend scientific research and practical tips, providing valuable insights and tools to create more positive family dynamics! You’ll also have a front-row VIP seat for our expert interviews, be included in the group chat to get real-time support and resources, and more fun surprises.

How is this different from the free parent groups I see on Facebook?

While creating community is helpful for every parent, raising kids with neurodivergent or mental health diagnoses can feel lonely. We know because we’ve been there too. Other parents can’t always relate to the daily challenges, fears, and judgment we know all too well. At NPA, we listen to people’s unique stories judgment-free, share resources and experiences, and learn from the experts together–we strive for transformational growth. Together we’ll focus on what is within our control as parents, instead of focusing on what we wish our children would do differently – we re-center the whole child and work on peeling back our own layers of beliefs and behaviors so we can welcome more peace and joy to our households.

“I felt safe, heard, acknowledged, comforted, and accepted. The presentations and information offered by the facilitators, Kelli and Sara, were so rich and helpful, and the conversations that followed by our cohort were intimate, nourishing, informative, thought-provoking, and offered with such love and kindness that it felt like coming home at last. I highly recommend this workshop to all parents, especially if your child learns and lives in their own unique way.” – Suzy N.

Will what I say be shared outside the group?

We require every participant to sign a confidentiality agreement. We realize we will be talking about the private, personal lives of children and their families, who are already moving through a world whose systems are not built to bring out their strengths. We recognize this is challenging enough. Therefore, we expect everyone to respect the privacy of fellow members. While generalized, unidentifiable stories can be shared to grow learning in our communities, we expect confidentiality to be respected to the fullest extent. Any breach will result in termination from the program.

Will you record these sessions?

We let each cohort decide together! De-identified transcripts can be helpful for those who have to miss a session, but sometimes, people feel less inclined to share the level of vulnerability that these groups are known for, so we will decide as a group.

How did you two meet?

In March 2024, Dr Kelli Harding lingered by the dessert table in the back of the World Happiness Summit Policy Forum in a stately meeting room at the London School of Economics. Facilitator Sara Blanchard bounced over, overjoyed at seeing her for the first time since meeting the year prior at the World Happiness Summit. Over coffee and cakes, the topic of parenting neurodivergent teens came up – and it felt like a weight was removed from our shoulders when we realized we were each grappling with having to rework our definitions of success. Someone else GOT IT! We joked that we should start a parent community so other recovering type-A people could feel seen and learn together… and then we realized we could create it!

Fast forward to fall 2024 and we’ve got a successful, joyful pilot program of the NeuroParent Alliance under our belt and we're launching our second cohort. We're excited to create the community--filled with understanding, learning, and laughter--we each needed, with all of us, together!

What’s the cost?

What if I sign up, and it’s not right for me?

We’ve got you! And your happiness is important to us! If you feel you made a mistake enrolling or it turns out groups just aren’t your jam, we offer a no-questions-asked money-back promise 30 days from the date of the first session. We hope you’ll love it, and anything you want to see changed, you’ll discuss it with us first since we aim to make this as helpful as possible.

“The NeuroParent Alliance group is exactly the kind of support network parents of neurodivergent teens and young adults need: a welcoming community, applicable tools, a wealth of resources, time for self-reflection, plus articulate written takeaways. As mothers themselves, Kelli and Sara use experience, science, and humor to remind us just how empowered we (and our children) really are!” —Sarah T.
